Chutzpah’s Weekly Barometer

by Katie on March 3, 2010

A light hearted look back over the past week’s good, bad and indifferent including the “don’t even go there’s”.

LOVING

Greggs steak bakes Loving that even Lady Gaga’s cottoned on. She recently had a steak bake on the way to her gig in Glasgow. When in Scotland etc.

Hung (Channel 4) The new TV programme that’s got me hooked after one episode. Prospective porn and poignancy. The TV show for the disillusioned hit by recession. Diversify or die with humour.

Hix basement bar Huge basins of champagne, great service and the enigmatic Nick Strangeways as bar host.

March Thank God for some sunshine…though it is still freezing!

Daphne perfume Heady, hedonistic, rich and sensuous. Like wearing couture in a fragrance.

Trilogy age proof CoQ10 booster serum I aim to have a face as stiff as Dannii Minogue, a well known fan of Trilogy.

HATING

Top Shop press office Well, they have just refused to put me and some other fellow bloggers on their mailing list. What do they expect? GYAC, you’re not Balmain.

Expensive bling trainers by Louboutin et al. I see where you’re coming from but not for me.

Primark The inevitable wailing children strapped into buggies while their mothers ignore them, the crowds, the confusion, the queues and with a hangover. No.

Faux Fashion Fawning (or FFF) The desire to indulge an egotistical designer/design team with platitudes such as, “Lovely show. Great collection. So ‘new’.” ie. it wasn’t, I just wasted an hour of my life on that same old dross.

The Halifax Ads Please stop now! Is everyone who works for Halifax a munter?

DON’T CARE

Glee (Channel 4) Yes, I know it’s pleasant and ironic and a grown up High School Musical but I wouldn’t rush home to see it.

I just had to Google GYAC and the first thing that came up was ‘God you’re a c**t’. However the second thing was ‘Give you a clue’…I think you mean the latter? 😛
