A light hearted look back over the past week’s good, bad and indifferent including the “don’t even go there’s”.

LOVING

Denny & Dazzle from http://www.37oldlondonroad.co.uk/ as featured on “Mary Queen of Shops” (BBC2). Delightful old hippies who were injected by a new lease of life and were undeniably enthusiastic in their store revamp (See link). Loved Dazzle’s ‘DAZ’ personalised number. plate.

Avon’s Advanced Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield When applied to clean damp hair the product helps form an invisible shield which helps block out frizz producing humidity…something we are truly thankful for. Today, Avon’s Frizz Freedom Fighters will be pounding the pavements of England’s top ten frizziest cities, armed with Advanced Techniques Lotus Shield, in a bid to rid the frizz. Get to work and de frizz Avon team! Priced at £7 for 60ml and launching on 15th July from http://avonshop.co.uk.

Neon bright toenails Surely ‘the’ colour for Summer in the city whether it be bright pink, orange, red, yellow or blue. They just look so right in this sultry weather.

Zara’s sale silk dresses and kaftans Timed perfectly for our heatwave. Enjoy looking chic in the sun while it lasts. At cut price, too.

HATING

Channel 4 and More 4’s seasonal end of my fave hot drama programmes Wah! ‘Brothers & Sisters’ ended in a cliffhanger and I can’t wait till new season. ‘The Good Wife’ had me hooked and even ‘Desperate Housewives’ ends this week. What’s a girl to do?

Hot nights and fitful sleep Uncomfortable in the extreme. And knackering.

Stores filtering in A/W 10 collections before the end of June Whether its Selfridges, Zara or Cos, they’re all doing it. The earlier sales are making the traditional ‘drop down’ dates for new season earlier and earlier. It’s just emphasising the need for ‘new’ over common sense. Joe Public are still shopping for holiday wear. At this rate, we’ll have A/W hitting down before May’s out.

DON’T CARE

Whether I attend Vintage at Goodwood The constant stream of Facebook updates, the press, the endless photo opps,…the hype is killing rather than stoking enthusiasm. In marketing there’s a reason for timed campaign launch through to event launch. Bored of it, now.

Gladiator sandals The high street is swamped by them. Don’t care if I ever see another one ever again. These net gladiator sandals are £45 from Oasis.

I was REELING at the racks of heavy knitwear and grey coats Selfridges men’s department had on display at the start of June. Really depressing – an even greater reminder that the beautiful weather we’ve been having won’t last forever.
