Taste the Trends at Vista Bar at The Trafalgar during London Fashion Week

by Katie on August 29, 2011

Those clever people at The Trafalgar Hotel reckon they have the best view in London. I can’t argue with them.  They do.  London’s landmarks surround you as you sip cocktails in the comfortable, cosseted roof terrace with heaters and foliage and attentive service.  In fact, I bet more than a few tourists wish they knew about this find.  The fact that it’s situated  within a stone’s throw of The Strand and Somerset House which is fashion central during London Fashion Week means that it should have more attention that it gets…usually as the entire industry is busy running from one part of London to another for the myriad shows and locations.  In heels, no less.  That could be the perfect excuse for a sit down and a respite tipple.

Vista Bar have created three ‘fashion’ type cocktails modeled around current collections to celebrate London Fashion Week.  As an expression of each cocktail’s individuality each cocktail will be served with its very own, on trend and stylish Temple Spa Nail Gloss worth £9. Each of the three trendy cocktails will be available from September 8th 2011 to coincide with the launch of Vogue’s Fashion Night Out and ensuing LFW.

The Sweet Golightly (£14)  (above) is inspired by little Miss Sophisticated, Audrey Hepburn herself in Breakfast At Tiffany’s.  This cocktail is a trip back to a time of early 1960s elegance.  Flavoured with basil infused Gin Mare Gin, it’s a delicious spin on a classic martini which is suitably more wet than dry with a definite basil aftertaste.  The Sweet Golightly is served with Temple Spa Nail Gloss Marrakech.

The Gemstone Glory (£14) (above) was my favourite despite it’s bright blue hue, created using a base of refreshing Pommery Champagne, Blu Curacao and Lychee Liquor and eloquently capturing the rich sumptuous feel that was also felt on the Jasper Garvida and Body AMR catwalks. A memorable cocktail if ever there was one.  Served with Temple Spa Nail Gloss Monaco.

The Lady is a Vamp (£14) embodies the dark and seductive qualities that have been captured by the fetish trend seen at McQueen, Felder Felder and Giles.  With a distinct taste of cough mixture, this one’s adrenalin- infused and not for the fainthearted.  Made with Black Moth Vodka, Mozart Dark and a hint of Absinthe it’s as impactful as its inspiration. Served with Temple Spa Nail Gloss Cassis.

These three special cocktails are available from 8th -30th September 2011.  Go try.
