by Katie on September 7, 2011

Readers, if you really want to see and experience how the fashion industry parties when they put on their Louboutin and Charlotte Olympia heels then you can.

Vogue’s Fashion Night Out is a tremendous global celebration of the fashion industry that has a serious message – it announces the launch of new season in store boosting attention and sales in an industry that has a £21 billion turnover in the UK alone, it celebrates the launch of the multi-weight Vogue September issue (and, anyone who’s seen the movie, The September Issue will realise that the issue is a money-spinner in terms of advertising as that’s when all new season campaigns launch) as well as setting up the industry for the oncoming New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks (Spring 2012 lines) that kick off in New York in that order from the 8th.  Phew!

From London to New  York and Moscow to Milan, all over the world the fashion industry joins forces and chooses 8th September to party courtesy of Vogue’s stupendous arrangement.

Designers, retailers, journalists, industry insiders, celebs, PRs and of course, the valued public mingle and get up to high jinks.  That’s why Katie Chutzpah blog is giving you the lowdown on just what’s happening when and where on the evening of 8th September in the middle of London.

So, if you fancy taking a real peek inside the industry and want to party like you never have with the best champagne, cocktails, canapes and enjoy the stellar list of DJs lined up, not to mention enter one-off competitions – get down to Selfridges and the designer store around Bond Street, Bruton Street, Conduit street and their environs – its all free and there to enjoy. Join in – honestly we don’t bite.

Better still, put on your best outfit and grab yourself a ‘fashion insider’ as they’ll have the lowdown of the A list stores, the parties to attend and the organisational skills and timing to take advantage of the best venues. Pick your favourite brands people and party – see you there!

On the Chutzpah go to list (and some of her favourite brands):-

Shoe God, Rupert Sanderson and his team are the funnest people. Over at Mulberry (left), at 50 New Bond Street W1,they promise an evening of manicures, fortune telling and prizes as well as some good old British food such as Toad in the Hole on the menu.  Mulberry’s parties are always a hot ticket so go seek out.

Another of the hot tickets and a Chutzpah favourite is the divine Diane von Furstenberg. At the DVF store in Bruton Street, there’ll be Hakkasan canapes and cocktails, a fun flip book photo booth and a preview of the new fragrance, ‘Diane’.  (6.30pm-10pm)

Another hot brand, BALLY, have DJ’s Bip Ling (model and blogger) and Charlie Porter to host their evening of shopping, champagne and music.  Limited Edition Vogue #FNO t-shirts will be gifted with every purchase on the night.

Over at Alexander McQueen, 4-5 Old Bond Street, they are giving away a limited number of special #FNO keys that have a unique code that guests can enter online to see if they have won an Alexander McQueen Folk Tote .  The McQueen bods are giving away one each in NY, London, and Los Angeles.

Finally, you may need your ‘fashion insider’ for this one as its pre register guest list but at Stella McCartney in Bruton Street, Laura Bailey and Livia Firth will co-host their event with a DJ set by the fabulous Queens of Noize and a Dance Off party.  I’m so there!  (7-10pm)
