Introducing French shoe brand, Eugène Riconneaus

by Katie on January 12, 2012

I must admit, even though I am (like most women) a shoeholic, I’d never heard of hip French brand, Eugène Riconneaus. I’m not alone either following a brief straw poll of ‘women in fashion with a budget that falls far below their shoe-habit.’
On further investigation, Eugène R is a young man barely in his third decade, who has spent most of his years around master shoe-makers, learning the trade and developing his skills and, in particular working within the haloed walls with the renowned craftsmen at John Lobb. After studying graphic design for a while, he choose to follow his other infatuation…women! By concentrating on the fairer sex, he quickly learned that the way to a woman’s heart is through her feet.
Inspired by the copious women around him in his daily life – muses, artists, editors, models and one night stands (how French) he developed his first shoe collection when he was 18. Eugène R’s shoes are all produced in France, paying homage to the French cobblers and boot makers who have passed on their invaluable knowledge to him.

For Eugène R’s Spring/Summer ’12 collection, he has invited several personalities or ‘muses’ to design their perfect shoe. Each design has then been crafted by Eugène R to define the owner’s personality and charisma, all named after each of the muses who include luminaries such as actress/singer songwriter Sky Ferreira, (Daphne Guinness’s niece) Mary Charteris, actress Lou Lessage, and models Cory Kennedy and Amy Lemons.
So praise the shoes of suave maesto, Eugène R – a man who mixes business with pleasure to devastating effect.
