Glossybox – The Best intro to New Beauty Products

by Katie on February 4, 2012

I have one of my fellow bloggers to thank for putting me on the Glossybox UK list. And I’m awfully grateful. This means that every month, often least when I’m expecting it, a coloured glossy box of make-up and hair products, often from new and niche brands, arrives on my doorstep. It’s like having a birthday gift arrive every month as you never know what’s going to be in these (and as bloggers do, we often compare our contents) but there is always something that you love and/or that’s entirely new to you and you fast become a convert.
What impresses me each month is the selection of brands and the contents as they indicate it’s not ‘run-of-the mill’ volume products but really well-respected, often hard to find brands that are leaders in their field. When subscribing, the customer’s asked to fill in a Beauty Profile to help Glossybox’s team of experts select the best fix products for you. The truly innovative factor of Glossybox is the feedback you are asked to give about the products you have tested – this is rewarded by GLOSSYDots and exclusive advantages are added to your account.
December’s red box contained the most vivid sparke ruby red Deborah Lippman nail colour, Blink high definition mascara, a mini Cargo Cosmetics lip gloss, a sample Jurlique Ultra Firm & Lift cream and a full size Rituals foaming shower gel.
Take yesterday’s arrival for instance, the bright pink Valentine’s Ltd Edition box contained a brilliant Eyeko skinny eyeliner in powder pink (great for lightening up and emphasising the insides of eyes), a mini version of First Aid Beauty’s (FAB) body wash, some Davines moisturising balm and cleansing nectar and a sample of Murad’s oil-free skin perfecting primer.  Some products are actual sized whereas some are mini-trial versions to introduce the product which is a good way of not filling your bathroom cabinet with expensive error full size versions. GlossyBox lets you dip in and out of products and get to know which ones suit your skin, your colouring and your taste.
I’ve noticed that the other advantage to taking out a Glossybox subscription is that each box contains codes for substantial discounts or free gifts with purchase on the actual size products as well as exclusive competition opportunities.

Oh, and your other halves aren’t forgotten about as Glossybox for Men is a quarterly delivery with seven trial samples.

At only £10 a month including postage and packaging, it’s one of the most worth it beauty investments around. Gold stars for such a slick, well-thought through selection of products and service. Find out more about Glossybox by clicking on the link.
