Swarovski Collective announced for Autumn/Winter ’12 Collections

One of the reasons (apart from the bling) that I give Swarovski so much credence is that they constantly support the more outre designers (even if some are fairly established), backing them by funding and also allowing them to incorporate the unmistakable Swarovski crystallised pieces into their collections, showing truly one-offs, making them even more wow’worthy.

For Autumn/Winter 12, New York and London lead the way with leading designers, Giles Deacon, Rodarte, Marios Schwab, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, J.W. Anderson, Craig Lawrence, Jason Wu, Creatures of the Wind, Jen Kao, Juan Carlos Obando and Marlon Gobel will all be featuring Swarovski in their forthcoming collections as part of the Swarovski Collective.

This select group of emerging and established talent has been carefully chosen for their innovative use of crystal and creative presence in the fashion community, showcasing their pioneering designs in both New York and London.

Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Executive Board, Swarovski Crystal Business, comments: “Swarovski’s crystal technology has allowed for endless experimentation and continues to break boundaries within the fashion industry. This season I am proud to deepen our existing relationships whilst also inviting new talents to imaginatively fuse crystal within their designs.”

Star of London Fashion Week, Mary Katrantzou, says

“Working with Swarovski allowed us to realise pieces on a demi-couture level and achieve a level of craftsmanship that has become intrinsic to the brand’s aesthetic. It means so much to me to have their continued support.”
