Acqua di Parma releases Iris Nobile Sublime. And wow, it is.

Ah, Iris. The choice of the elegant and discriminating. Hard to define and even harder to wear, this beauty seems to elicit devotion or disapproval depending on age and circumstance. But how can one possibly shun Frederic Malle’s Iris Poudre or Hermes Hiris (the epitome) or even Prada’s beautiful Infusion d’Iris?

Then, we have il grande d’Iris – Acqua di Parma’s subtly beautiful Iris Nobile which has just been take to sublime, literally.
Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile Sublime comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. The first blast of steely stem iris is unmissable. Sharp, focused and charismatic, then billowing out in great big honeyed folds and wafts to the golden delight that is a sun dappled, sophisticated beauty which manages to capture and exemplify the finesse of Italian Renaissance cultura. Charismatic, charming yet teaming with manners and good grace, Acqua di Parma Sublime is the perfumed embodiment of a youthful, middle-aged Marchesa – smart, sensual and restrained but leaving an unforgettable impression and with the grace of a bygone era brought bang up to date.
The heart of the fragrance is the precious Iris Pallida, grown in Tuscany and brimming with Renaissance romance. The first blast of Iris combined with the mandarin and neroli of Italy’s coastlines leads to the vast floral heart where ylang-ylang adds the softest powdery dryness that has you gasping for more. Even more powder comes by way of the Jasmine Sambac and the warm rose centifolia and orange flower.
For me, I love how this perfume dries down. Heaps of powderiness then the musky, sexy depths of patchouli, musk, cedarwood and birchwood ground this fragrance much like the Swiss finishing school and the good university has grounded our elegant Marchesa.

This Summer’s winning new release by far.

Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile Sublime launches exclusively in House of Fraser stores in August priced £82 (75ml). Launches nationwide from September 2012.
