Erno Laszlo releases the Blue Firmarine Collection

by Katie on July 2, 2012

There’s been no end to the amount of columns and pieces on how to Summerize your skincare routine, blah blah, how your beauty routine should be adjusted with the change in season and temperature, blah blah, not to mention the endless columns on increasing the SPF (true, all true, I may add….it’s just well, all a bit literally tried & tested).

So, instead, I’ll leap right in with a wonder product and range that I’ve only just discovered but whose name is legendary in skin care annals and who has been around for years, but being rather pricey have blinkered myself to its benefits – Introducing Erno Laszlo’s re-vamp, the brand started in 1927 and feted by Holywood celebrities in its golden age including Cary Grant, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and Katharine Hepburn.
I was lucky enough to be sent a couple of trial products after an in-depth discussion of the re-launch of the original brand and its star products as well as the launch of the Laszlo Blue Firmarine Collection. The latter range is a range of products including an Eye Therapy (£125), Lift Serum (£245), Night Cream (£245), Night Gel (£245), SPF30 (£225) and Treatment Bar (£49).

I know by now you will be balking at the prices. I was. Even today when creams costing hundreds of pounds are becoming commonplace. However, what makes this brand so -on-the-money is their heritage and experience in the skincare market as well as the new technology created by them to enrich the power of Spirulina Maxima (a wild, natural, oceanic algae which is high in gamma linolenic acid, found in very few substances on earth) to firm, nourish and hydrate the skin.
Without doubt, after using the Laszlo Blue Firmarine treament bar with the Laszlo splash method of thoroughly hydrating and rinsing your face, my skin has rid itself of the few reoccuring blemishes on the nose and chin and has become smoother and more silky. The treatment bar seems to set up good skincare from the off – it’s gentle, lathers to a cream and sinks in easily. The nutrient-rich complex has a duel-phase delivery system so keeps on working after the wash by delivering microscopic time-release encapsulates. In short, now I’ve tried it, I won’t do without it.
The other product tested is the Laszlo Blue Firmarine SPF30 daily firming cream which delivers a ‘whole-food’ nutrition to the skin with Spirulina Maxima. The cream is super light and super fresh with the smell of the ocean unmistakeable. Easy to wear on its own or with your regular serum. It’s quick to sink into the epidermis, hydrating and feeding the skin instantly providing its blend of fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. The SPF30 also protects with vitamins E, C and A, organic green tea, multi-mineral complex and mineral-rich deep sea water.

It’s taken me long enough but I’m a Laszlo convert. This is one skincare range that you will re-buy, even if you have to forego those shoes.

The Laszlo Blue Firmarine Collection is available exclusively from the White Hall at Harrods.
