From the simple grey ‘joie de vivre’ sweatshirt to the sweet Garance Dore illustrated iPhone case, the ‘Pardon My French’ t-shirts to the colourful illustrated cocktail party print shirt and dress and the covetabe Carnegie Hall Carlyle tweed bag and collarless Alessa coat, this collection breathes cheeky tongue in chic.
Garance Dore for Kate Spade New York
It seems you can’t move these days without some type of blogger collaboration (Note to Brands/PRs: still waiting guys…) from shoes to t-shirts, Hunter wellington ad campaigns to whole ‘blogger’ designer ranges.
One of the most globally famous, as such, is French illustrator, photographer, blogger (and partner of Scott Schuman aka The Sartorialist) and oft collaborator with brands, Garance Dore, known for her street style blog but also her past links with GAP, J Crew and Love Moschino. And now, Dore has partnered with kooky, sweet American brand, Kate Spade New York for a range of cute, classic French-tinged, New York ’50s style pieces that are available in Kate Spade stores worldwide.
Peter Pan collars abound (but we’ll forgive that) as do glitter ‘Corinne’ peep-toe heels and Parisienne type accessories such as the charm bracelet, loop cuffs and ‘all the girls are crazy’ bangles.
The collection fits Kate Spade’s fun, colourful brand persona well so ticks all the boxes for me.
As for this blogger, I do have a goldfish named after me (v cute, don’t ask…) but if anyone’s interested re ‘collaborations’ (fat chance), I’m v. big on vintage, spendy heels, Galliano, Roksanda Ilincic and Balmain.
Garance Dore for Kate Spade New York is available at Kate Spade stores in Sloane Square, Covent Garden and Westfield (Shepherds Bush) London.
