The ghd air boutique is opening its doors for the first time today and then will hit the road visiting locations around the UK as directed by the great British public. Everything will be completely powered by the army of ghd fans via its social media channels – from live Q&As with stylists and deciding on hairstyles, to choosing the next location for the travelling ghd air boutique.
At last night’s launch party, lots of famous locks turned up to be ghd’d and to mix and chat to ghd’s superior creative team led by creative director, Kenna (pictured below with Jade Parfitt). As well as taking care of the nation’s hair with the travelling air boutique, the ghd team will be rocking up to London Fashion Week next week for to style for shows such as the directional David Koma. But last night was a relaxed intro and time to party with faces such as Laura Whitmore, Siobhan Donaghy from The Sugababes, Tara Palmer Tomkinson, Donna Air, Henry Conway, Jasmine Guinness, Jade Parfitt and reality stars from ‘Made in Chelsea’. Guests drank champagne and vodka cocktails while being preened and all the while, ghd’s past work for catwalk shows such as Sass & Bide and David Koma played on big screen in the background.
As part of the air boutique roadshow, ghd is working with Select Model Management on a unique search to find a new model that will be given an opportunity to sign with the agency and to model for ghd later this year. A casting will take place at the boutique (6th sept) with a shortlist of five budding models pre-chosen by Select from images uploaded via Facebook so ghd are keeping social media at the core of their campaign. Fans will then be given the power to decide on the winner.
Any person can book be ghd’d at the air boutique by booking an appointment via Twitter or Facebook. Visit www.facebook.com/ghd or www.twitter.com/ghd and to find out about the full list of events for Vogue’s Fashion Night Out, visit www.vogue.co.uk/fashions-night-out.
