Michael Kors releases Limited Edition Gold Rose fragrance

by Katie on October 13, 2012

Hurrah! There’s another new flanker to Michael Kors’ Gold, only this time it’s a rose edition.

The bottle is typically Michael Kors’ square and modernist, stylish as always but there’s a rose gold tint to the whole offer – the metal, the rose tinted perfume, the packaging – and it’s good.

Michael Kors Gold Rose edition is as aboundingly feminine and overblown in tuberose loveliness as we’d expect from the man who gave us such an identifiable first offer. Only, this time there are five unique floral facets – tuberose, rose centifolia, muguet. glistening peony and bold gardenia. The effect is beyond heady, a burst of sweet, indulgent, velvety caressing scent that wraps the skin.
The bigness of Michael Kors Gold Rose cannot be mistaken. But this is no bad thing. Stamping it’s own ground and retaining it’s identity for largesse is to be admired for a mass market fragrance house. The underlying softness of vanilla adds to the creaminess of this scent, making it stand out in a sea of sameness. The release tells me there’s the ubiquitous pink pepper that seems to make an appearance in everything these days, but Thank God, this is kept to a minimum so as not to disrupt the over abundant floral loveliness.

This is a good new limited addition for fans of the range and may even win over some new devotees. I hope so.

The Limited Edition Michael Kors Gold Rose Edition Eau de Parfum is available from Harrods and other good retailers priced at £53 (50ml) and £75 (100ml)
