Chanel’s popular little pop-up in Covent Garden piazza has become a staple go-to store to pick out the latest in colours, new perfume and product releases and as a gift idea emporium. If there’s going to be a new release from the folk at the double C logo, it’s going to be stocked here, first.
Monday afternoon saw a re-launch or rather a re-focus on the store with various fashion and beauty bloggers taking time out to try the incredible new Christmas range (above) launched this week with it’s updated red/gold rouge noir nail polish, ‘Malice’ and glorious, shot through with shimmer quad eyeshadows.
They also reaquainted themselves with the entire range of Chanel fragrances from their classic Chanel No 5 with it’s new ‘Brad Pitt’ advertising to the superior Les Exclusifs range of fragrances including Coromandel, Sycamore, Beige, No 22, Jersey and La Pausa, only available at Chanel outlets and Selfridges. I’d recommend you seek these out to give you the ‘hidden’ depths of Chanel.
The pop-up re-fit is fragranced focus. The eponymous Chanel logo and stamp hits you, as do the profusion of shiny, amber and green perfume filled bottles that beg to be tried. This is a Chanel or fragrance junkie’s haven.
For Christmas, Chanel is now offering customers a personalised gift wrapping service with a choice of gift cards, all with a printed quoted from Mlle Chanel, with a calligrapher on hand to hand-write your personal message. The re-opening also sees the exterior signposted with giant bottles of No.5 to further entice in the consumer.
At Monday’s re-launch, guests were talked through fragrance by guest professor at Chanel, Joanna Norman and introduced to fragrances with which they weren’t quite so familiar. Nail creative artist and iniitator of nail-art, Sophy Robson, was also on hand to give premier manicures.
