Chanel’s Spring’13 Les Printemps Precieux Collection

by Katie on January 5, 2013

Whilst getting ready to attend the twice yearly gathering of London’s most fashionable and groomed men (otherwise known as London Collections:Men) to view the forthcoming A/W’13 collections (yes, that’s right, I did say Autumn/Winter ’13 while we’re still in the first week of January), it’s more than delightful to receive a few reminders of the Spring yet to come and girlishness courtesy of Chanel.
Chanel’s Printemps Precieux Collection positively radiates refined prettiness in a muted, pearlescent manner, all natural tones, matte pinks and unexpected deep aubergines. Mostly what strikes is the wearability of the collection. This is a defiantly use it or lose it make-up collection to brighten and illuminate Winter to Spring skin, giving eyes, lips and cheeks just the right dash of colour to perk up pink cheeks and lips. Most elegant if I say so myself.
Lips I prefer matte so I instantly fell in love with the unusual pinky, pale-orangey tone of La Favourite in the Rouge Allure Velvet range (£25). Muted sheer comes via the beige caramel of Fantastique and sheeny aubergine of Captivate in the satinised Rouge Allure collection (£25 each) and to perk up cheeks therea bright powder blush, Frivole (£31). To shape lips, there’s lip definers in Pallisandre (a deep plum) and Rubelite (£17).
Nails come via a deep oxblood shade of Le Vernis, Accessoire along with a daytime rose tinged beige, Emprise and my favourite, Fracas, in hot deep pink. (All at £18 each).
The star in the range has got to be the most beautiful Chanel logo, camelia and mini lipstick imprinted illuminating face powder (£46) which is almost too beautiful to use. It’s very much a girl thing. However, in the line of beauty I trialed and lo, the most shimmery iridescent pale gold and faintly pink tinged sheen gives a Spring-like, coruscating glow.

Seek out a piece of Chanel pretty, please. You’ll be full of the joys of Spring before you know it.

Chanel’s Les Printemps Precieux de Chanel Collection is available from Chanel counters from 18th January 2013.
