Chanel’s Flower Stall at Covent Garden for Mother’s Day

by Katie on February 28, 2013

Like Bambi I got up, all shaky of limb and tentative, a bit wide-eyed and knocked for six, following a recent spout of ill health. But, if anyone was going to tempt me out in the big wide world again, it would be Chanel, wouldn’t it?
Since July last year, Chanel have made quite a thing of their pop-up store in London’s Covent Garden, slap bang in the piazza front. The store serves as a highlight for all Chanel’s perfumes and make-up ranges so it’s a definite stop off for the Chanel lover about town as, if it’s newly released and on show, it’s going to be seen here.
And now, the world’s most famous fashion and beauty brand has just erected a beautiful flower stall in front of the Covent Garden store, highlighting the link to the area’s hereditary connection to flowers as well as focusing on the floral components that go to make up their globally famous fragrances.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, enjoy a hand tied posy and/or have a personalised Mother’s Day message written by a Chanel calligrapher on a Camelia embossed card which contains a  quote from Mlle Coco.
This fun little store also acts as a celebration of the brand and actively encourages girly groups or sole indulgent souls to try the ranges before you buy, none more so than the newly launched nail bar in the basement, encased in giant Chanel Le Vernis bottles which is available for private groups and make-up parties. Specialist fragrance specialists are also on hand to offer consultations on the House’s extensive fragrance ranges – the Exclusifs collection also being available at the store (including the brand new release, 1932).
I enjoyed taking in the gorgeous new ‘Les Beiges’ collection of special contour powders that give a healthy glow for all skin tones. I opted for the lightest shade (Les Beiges no.10; £38) that gives a soft glide and glisten to cheeks while smelling divine. I also tried out the new, soft to touch, (almost like sponge) synthetic Kabuki brush which may be a later investment (£38).

Services at the pop-up store include the 30 minute Chanel Le Vernis Nail Shape & Paint (Booking fee £30), The Chanel Makeover focusing on the latest catwalk trends (Booking fee £25 – 45 minutes), The Chanel Beauty Experience, a one-to-one skin consultation and cleanse followed by a makeover (£40 – 90 minutes) and a Chanel Make-up lesson (£50 – 90 minutes).
