Louboutin’s Canny Catch of the Day.

by Katie on March 31, 2013

Known as much for his eye catching wowtastic window displays at his store in Mount Street as for his yumiliscious, identifiable red soled shoes, Christian Louboutin knows that as well as a flash of red, a picture paints a thousand words.

Taking inspiration from the recent Louboutin press look-book (photographed by Peter Lippman), Louboutin’s latest windows bring to life his whimsical depictions of a fantasy fishing scene whereby key Spring Summer 2013 styles are caught by the dangling lines. It has us hooked from the off.

Dominating the displays are bespoke oversized stackable sardine cans acting as a backdrop whilst the partially opened can provides the product display area and temps us to peel back the can. Chrome plated exteriors and brass plated interiors complement the seductive spiked hardware on the shoes. The custom made cans are embossed with the signature Christian Louboutin red sole.

To add to the theme, an oversized single fishing hook, traditional three-pronged hook and large metallic fly rings have been used to to highlight ‘the catches of the day’.

Being ahead of the game in terms of marketing synergy and social media strategy, Louboutin has rolled out this new look to all forms of media that interact with his consumer. Visitors to www.christianlouboutin.com are greeted by giant, swinging fishing hooks laden with new season shoes and bags snaring catches such as the Panettone bag and spiked Druide sandals. Facebook and twitter followers have also been catered for in Louboutin’s fishing fantasy to get them hooked.
