Giles Deacon puts his stamp on Molton Brown’s 40th Anniversary

by Katie on April 23, 2013

Some brands just don’t look their age. Step forward Molton Brown who last week celebrated their 40th bithday with a special birthday party hosted by Giles Deacon to celebrate his limited edition  Molton Brown Design and the limited edition luxury range: Patchouli & Saffron.
The result of this celebratory brand link is a limited edition candle snuff lid which, is being sold exclusively in store at Harrods and online at priced £19. Only 400 such lids have been issued so these are authentic rarities.
Giles was approached and agreed to the partnership as he’s a fan of the range. His bold retro ’70s logo design for Molton Brown embodies the original spirit of the brand, when they first started out as a boutique salon on London’s South Molton street.
The birthday party held to celebrate was a 70s’s ‘tastic hotchpotch of wicker chairs, low hanging lamps, potted plants with a retro themed bar and canapes to boot. Giles made the celebration all the more worthy with his stellar mix of ’70s  through 2000’s classics including Donna’s ‘State of Independence’, Grace’s ‘La Vie en Rose’ and Chic’s ‘Good Times’. And it was, indeed.
Guests attending the 70s’ fest party at London’s ICA  which featured a special acoustic performance by breakthrough artist Delilah, included Amber Le Bon with Jonny Hynes, Kimberley Wyatt with Max Rogers, Olivia Grant, Brix Smith-Smart, Grace Woodward, Kimberley Garner, The Overtones, Aiden Grimshaw, Stuart Broad, Matty Prior, Matt Stevens, Doug Mandagi, Amore, Jess Mills, Vince Kidd, Laura Jackson, Goldierocks (aka Sam Hall), Hofit Golan and Katie Grand.

I left clutching my limited edition Patchouli and Saffron Body wash (£18) and Body Lotion (£25). A single wick candle (£36) and ’70s inspired stowaway bag (with body wash and lotion – £54) is also available in the range.
