Jo Malone launches Osmanthus Blossom

by Katie on April 17, 2013

For the love of April just whenever is it going to get consistently bright and sunny?

Grey clouds may still be mooching their sad faces about the skies but Jo Malone’s bright and breezy taste of things to come popped through my letterbox this morning, brimming with floral green attitude. Jo Malone’s Osmanthus Blossom, with its 3D floral covered box and its fast burst of white floral osmanthus with a sweet, juicy apricot tinged wake-up call is Spring in a bottle.

Yes, Osmanthus Blossom is like imbibing a shot of freshly squeezed fruit juice in bright sunshine with overhanging blossom. The moods is both feminine and joyous. This is a greeter-of-day scent that’s sure to shake any morning blues.

Luminous petigrain and luscious peach and orange flower ripple over a voluptuous cashmere wood base in Osmanthus Blossom. There is an overload of squishy, succulent whiteness here and with it, surprisingly, an air of laid-back sophistication.

Just to prove Jo Malone’s fragrance layering technique works, I searched out my bottle of Blackberry & Bay and squirted a good measure atop the Osmanthus Blossom. What occurs is less floral soft (obviously) and more sharp but with added oomph. Definitely a Jo Malone mix I’ll keep side by side on the dressing table labelled mentally as ‘Spring’. It it ever happens.

The Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Collection is priced £38 (30ml) and £76 (100ml)
