It was announced earlier this year and now it’s the big reveal – Jimmy Choo’s latest ad campaign featuring the ever captivating Nicole Kidman with her new, short, Titian tousled crop.
Exploring themes of film noir and referencing the tension of Hitchcock’s empowered heroines, photographer Mikael Jansson portrays Kidman as the seductive protagonist in a series of ad images that hint at the brand’s recurring themes of empowered glamour.
Says Jimmy Choo creative director, Sandra Choi, “Nicole has perfectly captured the mood of our AW’13 collection; her character portrays the multi-faceted qualities of the Jimmy Choo woman for this season – strong, sexy with a beguiling sense of mystery.”
In one treatment, the camera catches her in a private moment. She stares seductively at the camera, the embodiment of the femme fatale. The DANE lattice booties in claret frame her ankles and the CIGGY clutch is suspended from her fingertips.
In another, we are offered a voyeuristic glimpse – she is dressed in ‘his’ crisp white shirt (echoing Kidman’s famous Chanel TV ad), the simplicity of which offsets the TALAN shoes – a perfectly formed pointy-toe stiletto with a t-strap and bow detail.
Kidman is also featured standing next to an abandoned sports car on a deserted forest road – isolated but in control. She wears the TAMBA black leather boots in a seamless sheath of tactile leather. The BLARE biker bag hints at the mysterious journey ahead.
The Jimmy Choo ad campaign breaks globally in August issues. The campaign is accompanied by a short film which can be seen HERE.
