There’s some steamy behind-the-scenes video footage coming out of Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan office and no, it’s not of the designers heading up to their Milan catwalk show, it’s of model and house muse, Laeticia Casta and her male counterpart, Noah Mills, playing up to the intensity required to front the new Dolce & Gabbana Intense campaign.
Shot by Mario Testino, the campaign is a testimony to the intensity of a full-on love affair and the passion this brings. Laeticia (who has fronted the Pour Femme campaign in the past) returns to beguile with her Mediterranean sensual appeal. Very Dolce and Gabbana. Throw in Noah Mills in a white shirt, or not…and we have the essence of Dolce & Gabbana Intense.
So what does it smell like? Well, I’ve written in the past how little the current ‘Pour Femme’ smells like it’s 1992 original incarnation but as a mainstream luxury experience, the new Intense (in a moodier, dark raspberry bottle), lives up to its name; it’s a stronger take on the sweet, raspberry/marshmallow/neroli tinged ‘Pour Femme’ with a juicer swallow of greenness and a heavier does of sandalwood. This is the type of fragrance that you just know will be sprayed copiously on girls with heavily GHD’d hair in glitzy bar ladies rooms up and down the country. It appeals jointly to their femininity and their sweet tooth.
Intense by Dolce & Gabbana is available from Harrods and from good dept stores nationwide from 21st August. Intense EDP is priced £45 for 25ml, £64 for 50ml and £79 for 100ml. Body lotion is £37, shower gel £33 and body cream is £55.
