A Chutzpah look back over the week’s good, bad and indifferent including the “don’t even go there’s.”

LOVING

Estee Lauder & Derek Lam – One of New York’s wunderkind designers teams up with the ultimate New York beauty brand for a limited edition Derek Lam collection. The make-up line which launches in January will feature a mascara, kajal crayon, eyeshadow, lip colour and gloss, which come in a navy Derek Lam clutch.

NIKE_AIRMAX_1_03

Nike x Liberty SneakerBoots – Nike redefines seasonal sneakers with the launch of its much-anticipated Liberty print SneakerBoot collection.  Nike icons, Dunk, Roshe Run and Air Revolution are updated with height and winter weather protection and are wrapped in Liberty London’s signature paisley print, Bourton. The Nike x Liberty SneakerBoot collection will be available exclusively from Monday 21st October 2013 at Liberty London and www.liberty.co.uk/nike

Roksanda Ilincic’s new Mount Street Flagship Store – Spring 2014 sees the opening of Roksanda Ilincic’s debut London flagship store at 9 Mount Street, the Narnia of All Fashion Wardrobes. Oh, to be a woman of fortune.

Lara Stone as the new L’Oreal girl – Yes, she’s definitely worth it. Win.

Berner’s Tavern, London Edition Hotel – Wowsah! Stunning grandeur environment with a touch of New York’s Grand Central station about it. Love!

Guccietroetc 147

Jo Malone’s new Cologne Intense Accessories – Choose from an Oud & Bergamot Home Candle (£48) or Body Oil (£48) or rich, sweet and gorgeous Dark Amber & Ginger Lily candle or body oil. Just right for Winter nights in. Available now in stores and online.

Jane Cunningham of British Beauty Blogger’s very concise & true version of social media approaches – Highlighting the type of approaches the unwitting blogger receives daily. When since did it become de rigeur to try to exploit a section of the media so relentlessly?  Jane’s brilliant approach summed it up nicely. If you don’t follow her already, do so. One of the best in the industry.

HATING

Darcey Bussell’s grating voice on Strictly Come Dancing – Reee-allly? Does she ha- ave to purr like a cat and go up at the end of every sentence? What’s more annoying? Darcey’s inflections or Sharon Osbourne’s Minnie Mouse ramblings on X Factor?

Overhead3_Concrete_logo

Kate Moss Accessories collection for Carphone Warehouse – Perhaps werking’ that brand a step too far, girl.

Facebook’s Reluctance to Let go of Stupidity – Yes, let’s all prop our boobs on various household items in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness (my arse) and ‘what a wheeze’ it will be? Except for those possibly on Facebook suffering from Breast Cancer and not finding it quite so jocular along with the painful treatment. Fail to understand how some can be so blindingly unempathic and grossly insensitive by promoting this kind of schoolgirl jape. There’s nothing good-time about cancer. Sheep like mentality. Baaaa! Mind you, that’s now what I expect from Facebook.

NONPLUSSED

Moncler – Filing to go public on the Milan Stock Exchange, becoming the latest fashion company to pursue a stock listing. Hey ho.

Homeland (Channel 4) – The third series is distinctly lacklustre. More Brody, less annoying Dana, thankyouverymuch.
