In the hinterland of events and launches between catwalk fashion month and Christmas, there’s always a few that surprise. London’s pretty quiet of late, since Manchester appears to be taking all the retail attention with Vogue’s Fashion Night Out annual event (held this evening). But, one little store has quietly made it’s stake on London’s South Molton street and it’s a mighty fine brand too, Hanro.
Last night, 130 year old Swiss luxury brand Hanro opened their first UK store located at 6 South Molton Street which stocks the full collection of the women’s and men’s basic and ‘trend’ styles in lingerie, nightwear and lounge wear. And, of course, there were a crowd of London party admirers as well as celebs, only this time, the celebs ranged in age, attitude and elegance – Emilia Fox and Made In Chelsea’s Rosie Fortescue to Anna Brewster and a surprising Bond Girl, Honor Blackman, who happily chatted with London bloggers and journalists and posed for photos with fans.
Rosie Fortescue opted for sexy slinky nightgowns and lace bras whilst model and The Tudors star, Anna Brewster, grabbed a mix of tanks and vests and lacy lingerie.
The design of the compact store echoes that of the Hanro stores across Europe; sleek and understated with a clean colour palette of gloss white, black and chrome.
