Chanel have a whole host of product that’s recently been released that’s worth splashing out on from their Rogue Allure Moire (intense lip colour) and Vitalumiere Compact Douceur (lightweight compact make-up) ranges.

RMenigmatique

The latest releases in the Rouge Allure Moire range (£25) includes 8 new colours such as deep brown (farouche), matte pink (suprenante) to a sophisticated day-to-evening reddy-brown (enigmatique), shown above. There’s also a deep plum sticky and intense Rouge Allure intense long-wear lip gloss in a deep aubergine plum (controversy) or warm medium pink (reflexion). The glosses’ pigmentation is semi-opaque, thick, smooth and, as the name suggests, intense.

The stars, however, are the nail polishes (Le Vernis). The colours bowled me over. These are what I’d been waiting for – Rouge Moire and Rose Moire. The first is a deep Christmassy winey-red that glistens with iridescence. A steal that you’ll wear constantly at £18  each.

Launching from 18th October 2013 is the lightweight compact make-up with SPF 10 that glides on like a dream. Vitalumiere Compact Douceur. The compact comes in Chanel’s trademark glossy black casing with a sponge for application. The texture is so lightweight it’s barely leaves a trace yet majestically there is smooth and even coverage. Though I’m normally the palest skin tone, I tried Beige 20 (instead of my usual 10) which surprised me as it blended to my natural skin tone giving just the merest hint of colour lift. The compact texture is so much smoother than fluid foundation and sits mid-way between make-up and powder. Yet, there’s no hint of dryness to the skin which I’ve sometimes found with compact powder foundations. The latter makes it a ‘win’ for me. There’s also a refill for the case at £32 (while the compact retails at £42.50). At the heart of its innovative formula are High-Definition Light Pigments, which diffuse soft and extremely pure white light. So there we are. That explains it!

discretion

Accompanying this October launch is a limited edition powder blush (discretion – £31) that’s silky texture and pale sorbet pink imparts a flattering radiance to cheeks of any skin tone. One of my favourite products, hell, I’m even wearing it now! Applied high on the cheekbone or near the eyes, it instantly lifts and softens the face.  Let’s face it, we can all do with a little highlighting pick-me-up every so often. A find.
