It’s very hard for a girl to resist the charms of a brand spanking new, gleaming, black shiny, Chanel lipstick. In this little design wonder with the double interlinked ‘C’ logo, we have the ultimate status symbol as well as a variety of textures, shades and depths that’s a key cornerstone of beauty. It’s no wonder, then, that Chanel are concentrating on the appeal of Le Rouge Chanel in a campaign launching 14th February*. (*Psst! Men out there…it’s a fail safe Valentine’s Day gift for your girlfriend too!).
So whether your a strictly satiny texture or velvet finish a la ROUGE ALLURE VELVET kinda’ gal, a slim line ROUGE COCO SHINE type or an everyday ROUGE COCO matte sort, Chanel’s lipstick range is as broad and varied from nude beiges to pinks, reds and beyond.
Two of my current faves have got to be the subtlest, yet vital colour satin apricot of ‘Conquise’ in the ROUGE ALLURE range as well as the couldn’t-be-anymore-me, soft, velvety, light yet intense red of ‘Malicieuse’ in the ROUGE ALLURE VELVET range. I’ve also played with plum (but whiten those teeth girls). Emotion is a rosy plum with intense shine in the ROUGE COCO SHINE range. For lovers of paler shades, there’s a gorgeous, hydrating, delicate beige/peach called ‘Cheri’ but as it’s a limited edition colour, so you’ll have to move fast!
For nails, Chanel are trumpeting ‘Coup de Coeur’ as this season’s shade that goes with just anything. This deep lacquered plum (told you it was on trend) matches nicely with reds, pinks beige and violet-plums. It’s up to you.
Chanel Rouge Allure & Rogue Allure Velvet lipsticks are priced £25 each. Rouge Coco (hydrating crème) and Rouge Coco Shine (sheer) are priced £24. Chanel Le Vernis nail colour is priced £18.
