There’s been a little bit of hoo haa over the fact that Cara has (seemingly) elbowed out ‘our Kate’ as the face of Topshop. It’s a storm in a teacup but it seems that Cara can’t put a foot wrong these days.
Happy to replicate Kate’s hedonistic partying, her Eurochic celeb lifestyle, sunning herself on yachts in the Cote d’Azur and generally having a ball while being paid to look fabulous, Cara seems to be Kate Mark II by piling up the heavyweight name campaigns. And wow! Cara looks a dream in this campaign. Shot in London by renowned photographer Alasdair McLellan and styled by Topshop Creative Director Kate Phelan, the shoot features Cara wearing key looks from the Autumn/Winter collections in a series of 12 compelling images that capture her at her best.
Topshop’s Creative Director and Vogue-ette, Kate Phelan has commented, “Cara is a true TOPSHOP girl. Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual. Putting her spin on everything she makes the TOPSHOP collection her own. Her uninhibited natural energy is intoxicating, she is free-spirited and fun.”
Cara D may not have quite the same excellent level of personal eclectic taste as Ms Moss but I’d reckon there’s a TS Unique collection not far away in the distant future. Watch this space.
