It was more a case of rough trade rockeratti than the usual fashion scene glamourati at the Marshall Eyewear party at Greek’s Street private member’s club, The Union, to celebrate their launch at emporium of all that’s shizzle. Harvey Nichols.
Playing a pivotal role in music, the brand name Marshall carries more gravitas that Kanye W ever could. Biggest thing in music? Pah! Marshall’s been there, done that and worn the tour t-shirt. This behemoth of noise has now jumped into the hottub of fashion, aiming to communicate a Rock Star vision, with the launch of their debut eyewear collections. It’s a brand link made in heaven.
The music biz turned up to celebrate the launch including some famous pop and fashion names such as Jarvis Cocker and Billie J.D Porter (who both DJ’d), Mali-Koa Hood and Jade Parfitt. Champagne on entry and a free bar helped the party atmosphere go into stratosphere.
True to the DNA of the iconic Marshall amps, the frames are all lovingly hand-made, with elements of design reflecting an array of identification with their products, past and present.
The collection: hand-crafted from acetates and metals, with leather trims, combines the classic heritage styles of the past with the contemporary silhouettes of the present. The aviator, club-master, pant and wayfarer all get the Marshall once-over, with a range of chunky acetate flat tops embracing the new guard who are now defining the rock star vision.
Marshall icons are all present in the spirit of the 60 piece range, represented through rock luminaries such as JIMI, JOEY, MICK, JACK, NEIL, NICO, LOU, KEITH, JOHNNY, BOB, BRYAN and not forgetting, AMY. All styles are available in both sunglasses and optical frame options. From the hedonistic festival fiend, to the thoughtful music aficionado.
