Leonor Greyl launches Lait Luminescence at Il Bottacio

by Katie on January 24, 2011

Now, I love spendy hair care labels as much as any girl, so, when asked to attend the launch of a new product (Lait Luminescence) by Leonor Greyl at one of my favourite venues near Hyde Park corner, I added it to the ‘yes’ section of RSVPs in the diary.  Despite the fact that I was having to hot foot it directly there from Stanstead, home of Dan Dare (Ryanair) airlines returning from Berlin Fashion Week.  The glamma.

What can I say about the brand?  Leonor Greyl’s a favourite of session stylists globally on fashion shoots and is one of those swishy French brands that’s no doubt used by sophistcat French vixens with long, straight, silky hair.  And, then you have me.  Answering ‘non’ to all of the former.  However, I do have hair that needs constantly to be kept in check and this product promises to detangle, protect, shine and give manageability.  So far, I’m in.  I’m also keen to trial the ‘Bain Volumateur aux Algues’ or, to you and me, volumising shampoo with detangling properties.

But anyway, back to the event itself.  This gorgeous classic, period venue was filled with low light while waiters foisted champagne and canapes on you if you stood still for any more than 10 seconds.  My type of event, then.

The assembled crowd were wondering just what would Paulo Goude (son of Grace Jones and Jean Paul Goude) do, actually?  Sing?  Rap?  Dance?

Actually, he performed a beat-box version of his mother’s ‘Pull up to the Bumper’ along with several new tracks and jolly entertaining it was, too.  Not at all “down wit’ da kidz”, more “grooving with da’ well-heeled”.  Goude made several stiff shirts sway.  Even their hair moved.  Or was that down to the product?  I’ll soon see.  Detangling and wrangling awaits me.
