Billie Piper wows with Vintage at Peekaboo

by Katie on May 29, 2011

To celebrate the launch of their very first stand alone store, Peekaboo Vintage fan and close friend of Emily and Michael, Billie Piper was only too happy to take time out and show us how she wows in vintage.

From coy and demure in a 70’s sheer flowing floral dress to screen siren in an eye-catching red bell sleeve dress and red hot lips, she manages to portray Peekaboo and it’s stylish, upbeat vintage flair, effortlessly.

Says, Piper, I’ve always had a crush on vintage. It makes dressing up feel so much more eventful. Clothes with a story, a past is exciting in my mind. One off pieces from another era, it just feels special.

I met Emily and Peekaboo through work and our friendship has developed over the years which is very beneficial for my wardrobe.  Emily started to dress me for various occasions, award shows and various shoots and now its a love affair with vintage.

I can’t imagine a party without an Ossie or a vintage Biba.  She sources the most delicious stuff and it just keeps coming.  We’re excited about working together on this campaign and who knows what the future has in store”.

For over ten years Peekaboo Vintage has become renowned amongst vintage aficionados and the stylish and has been a destination for unique, show stopping pieces which are truly original, fun and eye-catching.

Peekaboo Vintage was founded in 1991 by Emily Bothwell and Michael Caunter.  Co-founder, Emily Bothwell, says “Vintage has moved on enormously over the last few years.  We are all yearning for more individual one off pieces which set us apart from the crowd and make us look unique.  Following on from the roaring success of Peekaboo Vintage in Top Shop and the re-launch of, it seemed only natural to launch a standalone boutique in London’s West End”.

Vintage keeps going from strength to strength, if you know what to look for and where to look for it and remains bang on trend with recent 1950s and 1970s influenced international catwalk looks as well as the current emphasis on sustainable responsible shopping, re-working clothes and extending their life and use.

With an huge high end selection of handpicked pieces, the boutique is due to create a shopping experience that is simple, straightforward and inspiring.  Gone are the days when Vintage is about students rifling through rails of old clothes.  Peekaboo is more luxury boutique than dark vintage cavern and has already done much of the hard work and pre-selection, in themes, which will make sure you’re focused and keep you inspired.

Opening June 2011, the Ganton Street Peekaboo store is set to be a huge hit and will be the newest addition and regular drop-in shop in your Little Black Book.
