Calvin Klein releases Sheer Beauty

by Katie on December 2, 2011

One of my favourite fragrance releases from the last year has become a flanker. That’s a good thing. Whilst many flankers are frankly flunkers, Klein’s latest offering has enough delicate cashmere punch and gumption in its own right for stand out.

Calvin Klein’s Beauty will captivate an audience, younger or slightly less daring with it’s launch of ‘Sheer Beauty’. Less bite but ultimately early Spring like for its February ’12 launch, this version smells of palest creamy pink with vanilla white undertones but with the same distinctive Calvin Klein’esque allure. The fact that the campaign is ‘typisch’ Calvin Klein with the ever so fashionist angle is also a bonus. Photographers of the moment Mert & Marcus capture cool Dutch beauty, Daphne Groeneveld, who fronts the campaign with styling by Karl Templar.
The new scent is surprisingly fruity (a difference from the overtly floral Beauty)  with a red berry extract and peach bellini accord that opens up to the soft pink lily heart and with a creamy vanilla base. Smelling of pale pink cashmere or silk thrown on to ward off the first chills of Spring but still with bright sunlight, there’s a warmth to this one.

To radiate the first taste of Spring, the bottle design features the signature Beauty flacon but the glass has an elegant blush-coloured gradient.

The byline is ‘for a young woman comfortable in her own skin’ which sums it up perfectly.

Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty is available nationwide from February 2012 at Debenhams and other good dept stores priced at £32 for 30ml EDT, £47 for 50ml EDT and £60 for 100ml EDT.
