Triumph has the Shape for the Way You Are.

Ladies, as it’s party season, it’s time to cut to chase. We know that we all love indulgent expensive frippery lingerie such as Myla, Damaris, Mimi Holliday, Agent P, Janet Reger etc but really, what’s useful especially at this time of year when it’s partywear central is some good well styled ‘covers substantially, holds you in, smooths and gives a nice line to your chosen outfit’ type shapewear – that’s the basis for you to start feeling good and being relaxed and not uncomfortably pulling at bra straps, underslips or re-arranging knickers on the sly all evening.

I headed to Triumph to see their latest shapewear releases for Spring ’12 but with a firm eye focused on what my Chutzpah girls need now for the ensuing Christmas glamathon. Triumph has been synonymous with good lingerie and shapewear since its beginning in 1886 so it has heritage, knowledge and brand kudos.  Added to this, I can still remember the ’80s ad featuring a cameo by Sting playing pinball and that very catchy by-line, Triumph has the bra for the way you are’ so wanted to check out what Triumph’s 21st Century femmes fatales are rocking to help define their shape whatever their size. It was enlightening. Gone are any notions that shapewear is simply functional and not in the least sexy as a selection of staple necessities have been up-sexed and up-lifted. Bras, slips, knickers and even leggings have glamorous control while being bold in shape, sexiness and appeal. Of course the basic nude, white and black are there in droves as they should be, but Triumph has added bold lipstick pink and purple that make a statement in themselves.

I particularly loved the Diamond Sensation Bodydress (pictured top) and smooth Stylish Sensation bra as they give incredible shape while looking ultra sexy. The Cool Sensation wired bra and Highwaist pants are the epitome of stylish for vampy vintage types while the bandeau bodydress in fuchsia is minimalist modern in an Azzedine Alaia’ish sexy swagger.

There’s also a fabulous selection of swimwear with a provocative, deep plunge yet clever ruched swimsuit that can be un-ruched to a day dress for strolls into town for lunch away from the pool/beach. Worth bearing in mind as Triumph’s range of swimwear obviously thinks about making the body beautiful as well as being comfortable.

Re-look at this classic brand for your shapewear for Christmas and beyond. Like a good friend, it’s going to tell you the truth, highlight your positives and make sure the not-so-good parts are shown in a good light. Frankly, we all need some support.

Triumph is available in all good department stores throughout the UK as well as online.
