Versace’s Vamptastic A/W’12 Campaign Imagery

 Let’s face it people, Versace’s always been ready to frock and roll. Since Gianni sent his bevvy of supermodels down the catwalk rocking out to George Michael’s ‘Freedom’ and then dressed them in ultra Glam fetishistic punk, with the prevalent Medusa logo as the arch indicator of status, the stage has quite literally been set for celebrities to whip it up in Ver-says.
Dontatella may have felt the weight of her brother’s world on her new designer shoulders but she found her feet quickly and astutely and it is only now that she can look back in love and acknowledge Gianni’s last collections but bringing them bang up to date – none more so than in the Fall/Winter 2012 show that breathed sexy darkness and assuredness. Less mistress more matrix meets Metropolis.
Crucifixes, leather, armour like corsets and studs merged with a Joan of Arc vibe (and models in fugly fringes) to yell this dominatrix will feel your pain. 
Cue the latest advertising campaign with its thrilling dark vibe that’s undeniably classic high voltage Versace. Says Donatella, “I’m really thrilled with our new campaign. The result is bold, strong, iconic and perfectly conveys the sexy rock vibe of our Fall/Winter collection.”
Photographed in London by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and styled by Joe McKenna (women) and David Bradshaw (men), this is a top class campaign that will bite from the September magazine pages.
